Stamp Duty Can Now Be Paid Online In Jharkhand, New System To Be Applicable From September 5

The Registration Department has implemented a new system after the Jharkhand state government cancelled the agreement with the Jharkhand Stock Holding Corporation. Now the buyer or seller can purchase stamps and pay the registration fee online while sitting at home. In this regard, District Sub-Registrar Avinash Kumar said that after the implementation of the new system, people will now get a lot of relief and will not have to run from pillar to post to buy stamps and pay registration fees. People can now buy the stamp from home itself. With the implementation of this system, people will be saved expenses. Also, the government will get additional revenue.

Giving information in this regard, Kumar said that after the deed is made online, a token number will be generated. One needs to click on GRAS payment on the website of the Registration Department of the State Government, for purchase of stamp duty. After selecting stamp duty, the earlier obtained token number would need to be entered. After this, the name of the party vendor would need to be selected. The name of the depositor will now be visible. After entering the amount here and clicking on proceed, online payment can be done. After the complete payment process is completed, one can take a print. Stamp purchased from holding corporation till September 4 will be valid and can be used for the next few days.

Apart from this, stamp duty can also be paid from the authorized branch of SBI through e-challan. The government will now not have to pay commission to the corporation. Along with this, the buyer-seller, document writer, the lawyer will also be benefited. Document registration, list copy, search, property charge and all other work can be done through e-GRAS on the Registration Department’s NGDRS portal.

All the registration officials have been asked to make people aware that from Friday payment of stamp duty can also be done through online mode. There should be no confusion about online duty payment after 5th September. Payment can be made in case of any type of registration from the online system.
