BJP Delegation Meets Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer; Asks For Free And Fair Elections In Bermo.

Election fever has gripped Jharkhand with two by-elections scheduled in Dumka and Bermo. With an aim to have free and fair elections in Bermo, a BJP delegation, led by the party’s state general secretary Aditya Sahu, met the Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand and submitted a memorandum to the Election Commission of India.

Aditya Sahu said that bypassing rule of law, a police officer has been posted in Bermo at the behest of the state government. This clearly shows that the state government’s intention is not good with regards to the by-election. This police officer was earlier posted at the state headquarters, but was posted in Bermo a few days before the election. This step reinforces the possibility of elections being affected. BJP’s state general secretary asked the Election Commission for removal of the police officer from Bermo without any delay.

BJP delegation said that there were no achievements of the state government during their tenure in last 9 months and crime has also gone up. Electricity and road conditions have become worse across the state, adding that the people of the region will teach a lesson to the JMM and the Congress alliance during the by-elections. BJP MLA Naveen Jaiswal and State Spokesperson Pradeep Sinha were also part of this delegation.
