BIT Sindri Ranked Among Top 25 Institutes In India In Promoting Start-Up Culture.

BIT Sindri has been listed among top 25 educational institutions in the country promoting start-up culture in higher institutions funded by state governments. Recently the Union Ministry of Human Resources has started a new ranking system in the name of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to promote this culture in teaching, Atal Ranking of Institution on Innovation Achievement. BIT Sindri has been included in the top institutes of the country and included between the 6th and 25th position.

The role of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Innovation Lab located there has been commendable in the success of the institute. The Institute Innovation Council of the Union Ministry of Human Resources has already given a three-star rating for promoting start-up culture on campus. The start-up cell of the institute has been successful in establishing its own identity among the youth of the entire state. So far, the youth of the institute along with the students of the institute have registered more than 25 ideas in Innovation Live. Out of these, 10 ideas have been highly appreciated and 4 ideas have been selected for seed money ranging from Rs 15 to 24 lakhs from the State Education Board of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Innovation Live. Some part of this money has already been made available to these start-ups.

The idea of ​​Karan Raj Mehta, a student of civil engineering department of BIT Sindri, has been selected for seed money by the State Education Board of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Innovation Live. Karan’s idea is helping people get appointments of doctors while sitting at home. In Dhanbad and its adjoining districts, people are using this app that Karan developed. According to Karan, most of the private hospitals in Dhanbad and more than 250 private doctors are connected with this online service.

The start-up of Divyanshu Sinha, a student of Mining Engineering of the institute, provides information about the careers available in the fields other than medical and engineering to the youth coming from small towns. Through their start-up counselling, they explore the potential of youth and help them to make a career in the same field. Divyanshu’s field of work is currently Jharkhand, but he is soon going to spread his business across the country. ABVIL, a company of Pankaj Kumar, a young man from Sindri, has got a place in the incubation benefit of BIT Sindri. Pankaj Kumar’s ID remotely controls IT smart meters and street lights. His service is based on Artificial Intelligence.

According to Prof DK Singh, director of the institute, the efforts of the institute are now getting recognized at the national level. The incubation lab located in his institute promotes not only BIT Sindri’s students but also the innovative ideas of the youth of the entire state. The institute does not stop just at this but also helps in providing market and funding the ideas of these youth. According to Dr. Prakash Kumar, chairman of the start-up cell of the institute, during the last two years, many programs have been organized to promote start-up culture in the institute.
