Three former CMs of Jharkhand will campaign in West Bengal poll..

Three former chief ministers of Jharkhand Babulal Marandi, Arjun Munda, Raghuvar Das will campaign for BJP candidates in West Bengal. The three former chief ministers of the state are in the list of 40 star campaigners.

Among the three, Arjun Munda is presently a minister in the Modi Cabinet, Raghuvar Das is now national vice president of the party and Babulal Marandi is the state unit’s legislative party leader.

“While Marandi and Munda will focus on Bengal districts bordering Jharkhand having high concentration of tribal voters. Das will campaign in the areas having OBC population”, said a BJP Senior Leader. He further added that people of many districts in West Bengal have similar lifestyle and culture and it will play an important role in connecting the leaders with the voters.

The BJP leader also said that these three ministers had already been to Bengal even before the dates of poll was announced and had already tried connecting with the people. And with polls nearing, they will now aggravate the campaign and public connect programmes as directed by the party high command.

Many places of West Bengal shares border with Jharkhand. The border of Ranchi district touches Purulia district of Bengal. Also, Bardhaman in West Bengal shares border with Dhanbad in Jharkhand. BJP has a strong organisational strength in Dhanbad and few places near West Bengal .

“Lotus will blossom in Bengal and the party commitment of making Sonar Bangla will come true after BJP forms government in Bengal”, said Union Tribal Minister Arjun Munda on being made as star campaigner.

As per the sources, the BJP workers are currently camping in the neighboring districs of Bengal. Local Bengal leaders are being assisted by the State’s BJP workers in enhancing the organisation

Apart from BJP leaders, NDA alliance partner AJSU has also planned to campaign in Bengal. The party in alliance with BJP has one candidate in Bengal.
