Private Schools And Building To Be Converted Into Covid -19 Isolation Centres In Jharkhand.

The increase in the number of corona patients in Jharkhand with every passing day is increasing the challenges of the district administration. Despite increasing the number of beds in isolation centres, they are getting completely filled up in a day or two. New isolation centres are being set up almost every day to provide proper treatment to the patients.

Now, private schools have also been asked to be prepared to be used as isolation centres. Initially, there have been talks with one or a couple of schools in some districts and these schools have agreed to the use of their building as isolation centres. Soon the administration will hold meetings with school managements to prepare a list of schools and create isolation centres. The plan is to only keep patients without symptoms in these centres.

As per the information received, the administration is giving priority to convert schools which are close to the covid hospitals into isolation centres so that in case the patient’s health deteriorates at the isolation centre, they can be shifted to hospitals immediately. In case of a steep increase in the number of patients, the administration has also prepared a plan to acquire several private buildings, marriage halls, banquet halls in the city. The plan is again to only have patients without symptoms in these buildings.

The district administration is also trying to convert some hotels into isolation centres for patients without symptoms. A tie-up of hospitals and hotels is being done. Five hotels on Ranchi Station Road have tied-up with Guru Nanak Hospital. Two hotels are also being tied-up with Medica. One of the hotels is in Kokar. The MOU will be signed soon.
