Jharkhand Education Minister Jagarnath Mahato Health Improves, Lungs Still Damaged Though.

The health of Jharkhand Education Minister Jagarnath Mahato is improving. All his reports have come as normal except for lung infections which will take some time to recover as they are badly damaged. He was taken in an unconscious state from Ranchi to Chennai. According to doctors at MGM Hospital in Chennai, his lungs will start working in a week.

Dr. Murali Krishna said that his lungs have been damaged quite a bit and at present, he is on the support of Ecmo machine. The doses of sleep inducing and antibiotic medicines that were being given to him have now been reduced. He added that Jagarnath Mahato’s blood pressure is also normal now. He is feeling sleepy but he is in conscious state. However, he can not talk right now. The Chief Security Officer of the Education Minister also said that there is great improvement in his health and he is understanding things. He is not talking, but making gestures using hands.

Jagarnath Mahato tested positive for corona infection on 28 September. After this, he was admitted to RIMS Covid Care Center, Ranchi. On October 1, he was shifted to Medica after he experienced trouble in breathing. On October 19, the Education Minister, who was infected with Corona and was in a critical condition, was shifted via Air Ambulance to Chennai at 6:35 pm under supervision of a team of lung pathologist doctors who had come to Ranchi from Chennai. Jagarnath Mahato’s lungs had stopped working completely and he was first put on high-flow oxygen and later on ventilator. But after doing a clinical review of the Minister of Education, Specialist doctors from Chennai advised to keep him on extra corporeal membrane oxygenator (Ecmo) machine. He was taken to Chennai by giving him deep sleep medicine on Ecmo machine itself. His health then showed signs of improvement.
