Aiwan Abhay Minz, from Ranchi is invited to address Global Ingenious Youth Forum 2021.

Aiwan Abhay Minz, a nine year old boy from Hehal Delatoli, Ranchi got a letter from Rome which said that he was invited to address the Global Ingenious Youth Forum 2021. The United Nations Food Summit is giving chance to young children as they believe that youth of a community decide the future of the whole community. So Aiwan, a class 4 student at St Xavier’s School in Ranchi said, “I will speak on the traditional system of preservation of seeds and chemical-free farming that is done in our villages,”.He is chosen to represent and talk about tribal communities and its farming practices.

The UN believes that the ingenious youth may learn from the rich traditional knowledge and skills of innovation and adaptability from their respective communities. The organisers want them to share their views at the forum about the beliefs, culture, heritage and livelihoods of their communities so that those are reflected in the United Nations food system policies to ensure the spirit of leaving “no one behind”.

The meeting will be held online which is jointly organised by the Global Indigenous Youth Caucus, The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations and the Indigenous Champions of the UN Food Summit. The meeting is scheduled to be held from 16th June to 18th June.

Aiwan said he worshipped Sarna (tribal god), took their blessings and was ready for his opening speech.
