The number of corona patients in Jharkhand crossed 1 lakh on Tuesday. It took only 6 months and 27 days to reach this number. The first case of corona in Jharkhand was found in Ranchi on March 31 – the patient was from Malaysia. Tt took 27 days for the number of patients to reach 100. In 32 days (April 27 to May 29), 400 more patients were found in the state. Speed kept increasing since and on July 17, the number of patients reached 5110. The number of patients doubled in next 13 days to 10488 on July 30. It took 121 days (April 31 to July 30) to get the first ten thousand patients in Jharkhand. Whereas in the next 44 days, 50,000 patients were found across the state. On July 30, the total number of patients in the state was 10488, which increased to 60460 on September 12.
The first death from corona in Jharkhand was reported on April 9, in BGH Bokaro, the deceased – a 72-year-old elderly resident of Sadam village in Gomia. He had reported positive for the infection 10 minutes before his death. The second death occurred on April 12 and third on April 21. So far 872 patients have died in the state. The highest – 313 – deaths occurred in August. 3 patients died in April, 2 in May, 20 in June, 95 in July, 313 in August, 289 in September and 160 in October till now.
