Process Simplified For Free Treatment Of Poor At RIMS

Poor and helpless patients have to take approval from respective authorities to get admitted and treated in RIMS without having to pay the fees. Many times a patient is not treated free of cost if the officer is absent or not available at the time. This may be about to change now with a recently issued order.

Now, the unit incharge has also been given the authority to allow free treatment of patients admitted to the ward. At the same time, CMO, SOD, POD and medical superintendent – in special circumstances – can give permission for free treatment for patients coming in emergency circumstances. In absence of unit incharge, permission can be given by the an alternate physician. It will be compulsory for the authorizing person to put his stamp with name, signature and designation. This initiative will surely provide great relief to the patients. This had initially come up in discussion in meeting held on September 15 and now the order has come.

Taking view of Durga Puja and ongoing corona epidemic, Civil Surgeon, Ranchi Dr. VB Prasad issued orders to cancel leaves of all the doctors. In the order issued, the Deputy Superintendent of Sadar Hospital Ranchi, Sub-Divisional Hospital Bundu along with all the in-charge medical officers and employees have been instructed that any kind of leave will be approved only after taking corona situation into consideration and after the approval of Deputy Commissioner Ranchi. Under no circumstances would officers or employees be allowed to leave headquarters or work place.
