More Than 7500 Special Products Factories To Be Set Up In Jharkhand, Government To Provide Subsidy.

24 districts of Jharkhand will get about 250 factories each for selected products which would be based on agricultural or fruit products found in the district. A five-year action plan has been chalked out to establish more than 7500 such units in the state. The Industrial Department has sent its proposal to the Central Government. It aims to generate large scale employment at local level. The Department of Industries has planned to give every district a national identity with the special industries being established under Prime Minister’s ‘Vocal for Local’ Campaign. Products have been selected in each district for this and a group of industries based on Guava will be established in Ranchi, Tomato in Jamshedpur and Potato in Dhanbad with similar products selected for other districts. Every year 50 units will be set up in each district.

Government will set up facilitation centers in every district for the industries. Common plants will be set up for those industries there from where the operators will be able to get their work done. and they will not need to install the common machines related to packaging or processing technology separately. The center will be operated jointly by the entrepreneurs’ committee and government departments of those industry groups. Each industry will be het subsidy up to 30 percent of the investment and both Central and State Government will have a stake in it. The maximum subsidy available to entrepreneurs will be up to Rs 10 lakh.

In coming days, Industrial department will issue RFP for every district and facilitation centers will be formed on the basis of the same. Entrepreneurs will be given technical help in setting up the industry and grants will be given on the basis of project cost. Some of the products in districts will be Jackfruit in Bokaro, Peda in Deoghar, Tomato in Dumka, Custard Apple in Chaibasa, Jaggery in Hazaribagh, Tomato in Chatra, Green Chilli in Jamtara.
