602 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in Jharkhand on Monday, which is more than alarming considering that apart from medical colleges, reports were yet to come from most places. The highest number, 130 patients have been found in Ranchi, 92 in Khunti, 90 in Hazaribagh, 41 in Jamshedpur, 54 in Ramgarh, 41 in Jamtara, 34 in Sahibganj, 31 in Latehar, 25 in Singhbhum, 25 in Gumla, 13 in Seraikela, 12 in Pakur, 8 new patients each were found in Palamu and Bokaro. As per the report received from RIMS, Ranchi a total of 994 samples were tested today. Out of this, 83 came positive while 911 returned negative. Corona positive cases’ number continues to increase at an alarming rate in Jharkhand 694 new cases were reported on Sunday also after more than 800 cases were reported for two consecutive days. The number of active patients in the state has now gone up to 8,402. The total corona cases have been 12,882, of which 4,682 have recovered.
While almost all the districts are getting new cases after testing was intensified, the death of corona patients also continues at an alarming rate. More than 150 people have died from the infection in the state. Most of the deaths are taking off at TMH Hospital in Jamshedpur.5 patients died in Jamshedpur on Monday. These include two women and three men. Two deceased patients are from Karma, one from Mango, one from Sakchi and one from Jugsalai.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren, his wife, children and other family members will be screened on Tuesday. After several staff of CM housing were found infected, the CM and his family will be tested again due to increased risk of infection. They had been tested before after coming in contact with infected minister Mithlesh Thakur, in which reports came negative.
