Jharkhand State Government Caps Corona Treatment Charges In Private Hospitals To Rs 12000

In news which will bring relief to corona patients in Jharkhand who are getting treatment in private hospitals, the state government has further reduced the rate already prescribed for treatment. Private hospital will now be able to charge a corona patient a maximum of Rs 12000 for treatment with ICU and ventilator support. The rate was Rs 18000 earlier. The districts in Jharkhand have been divided into three categories.

The hospitals have been divided into two categories. One, with hospitals accredited by the National Accreditation Board of Hospitals and Health Care (NABH) and the second, without accreditation. The rates have been set accordingly. Departmental Minister Banna Gupta has agreed to the proposal of Health Department. Rates have been fixed based on the patient’s condition – Moderate, ICU and very serious. The prescriptions and medicine are included in the package. Distribution of patients has been does as Moderate – general patients, who are admitted to oxygen supported beds, Severe – patients admitted to ICU without ventilator and very serious – ICU and Ventilator Support.

Districts in category A are Ranchi, East Singhbhum, Dhanbad and Bokaro. The NABH Accredited hospitals will charge 8000,10000 and 12000 for moderate, severe and serious patients respectively while non-NABH Accredited will charge 7500, 9000 and 11500.

Districts in category B are Hazaribagh, Palamu, Deoghar, Seraikela, Ramgarh and Giridih. The NABH Accredited hospitals will charge 7000,8500 and 11000 for moderate, severe and serious patients respectively while non-NABH Accredited will charge 6500, 8000 and 10500.

Districts in category C are Chatra, Dumka, Garhwa, Godda, Gumla, Jamtara, Khunti, Koderma, Latehar, Lohardaga, Pakur, Sahebganj, Simdega and West Singhbhum. The NABH Accredited hospitals will charge 6000,8000 and 10500 for moderate, severe and serious patients respectively while non NABH Accredited will charge 5000, 7500 and 9000. The charges include PPE and all protective equipment.
