15 positive coronavirus infection cases were confirmed in Bokaro district on Friday. After the confirmation of the 15 new cases, arrangements are being done to shift the patients to Covid-19 ward of Bokaro General Hospital. Contact tracing of affected patients has started. The people found to be in contact with affected patients will be sent into mandatory quarantine.
According to Civil Surgeon Ashok Kumar Pathak, the confirmed cases of coronavirus infection include patients from Makoli (Chandrapura), Petarwar and Chas. The Civil Surgeon reiterated on the new guidelines issued by the state government regarding coronavirus infections. According to the new guidelines issued, if a person has been confirmed for the infection but is not showing symptoms, i.e. is asymptotic, they are being advised to stay in home quarantine.
Among the confirmed coronavirus infected patients is a staff of ONGC. The patient had come to Dhanbad from Mumbai on July 13. He got his samples tested at a private lab in Dhanbad and then came to Bokaro. He was staying at Madhuban hotel hear Garga Bridge in Chas in quarantine when his reports came in late on Friday. The health department team has now shifted him to Covid-19 ward of Bokaro General Hospital. Hotel Madhuban has been sanitized. Sanitization of adjoining areas is also underway.
Special attention is being given on containment zones in Bokaro district. It is being assured that people in containment zones get all supplies. Also, garbage collection and sanitization of the areas is being done regularly.
