Now the vegetables grown in Jharkhand can also be enjoyed abroad. Taking the first step in this direction on Thursday, the State Agriculture Minister Badal Patralekh flagged off trucks loaded with vegetables which left for Kolkata. Vegetables will be sent abroad from Kolkata Airport. This will enhance the identity of Jharkhand internationally and farmers will become self-sufficient. Ranchi market committee secretary Abhishek Anand said that with this step of the state government, farmers of Ranchi will be recognised internationally.
The income of farmers is expected to increase by three times and they will be able to become self-sufficient. Vegetables are being sent to Dubai, Oman, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia in the first phase from Jharkhand. On Thursday, the Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Cooperation and Fisheries, Badal Patralekh, sent the agricultural products produced by the farmers of Nagadi to Kolkata Airport. For the first time, green vegetables produced by farmers from Jharkhand are being exported through Market Committee, Ranchi. About 500 farmers in Ranchi and Jamshedpur will be benefited from this.
Speaking on the occasion, the Agriculture Minister said that the Government of Jharkhand has decided to send green vegetables grown by the farmers of the state to abroad with the intention of strengthening the economic situation to improve the condition of farmers. The same was launched in Nagdi on Thursday.
The farmers’ products will be sold abroad at a reasonable price, given the good evaluation of their produce. More farmers will benefit from the same. The minister told that the farmers of Jharkhand should become self-sufficient and sell their crops at a reasonable price. Currently, the production of drumsticks is being done by the producer company in Gaurav Toli in Nagdi on 6.3 acres. With this, the farmers from there will become self-sufficient.
In the second phase from Jharkhand, the farmers of Hazaribagh, Ramgarh and Gumla are preparing to send vegetables abroad. In these three districts, vegetables are being produced by women’s group. After this, farmers of other districts of the state will be linked to it so that they too can get benefit from it and they can become self-reliant. Vegetables like bhindi, bitter gourd, munga, pumpkin, cucumber, french bean, jackfruit, shrimp, barbatti, bodi etc. are being sent abroad from Jharkhand.
