The train journey from Dhanbad to Tata Nagar will become more convenient now. Currently, the rail section between Dhanbad and Tata has a lot of track on a single line, exercise to convert it to double line has intensified at several places. This will bring down the journey time from Dhanbad to Tata by an hour.
Dhanbad-Tata Nagar rail route has two routes. The first route is from Tata Nagar via Dhanbad-Pradhankhanta -Bhojudih and the second route is from Dhanbad – Chandrapura – Chas City – Purulia. It runs the Golden Line Express via Bhojudih, while Jhargram Memu runs via Bokaro-Chas-Purulia. Both the routes will be worked out to reduce travel time between Dhanbad and Tata Nagar.
East Central Railway has started work and it is going to make several changes along with doubling the rail line on both the routes going to Tata. A tender has been issued for the work. Within three months, the entire report will be submitted to the railway headquarters and further work will commence thereafter.
According to railway management, Dhanbad Chandrapura railway line has a single line after Tetulmari. Due to this, 43 km of this railway section will be converted to double line up to Nishchitpur, Matari, Tello. This railway line will be surveyed. The survey team will prepare a detailed report on the underground fire as well as the double line to be laid and how much land is to be acquired. This information will be followed by work on this rail section, while on the other hand, a 22 km double rail line will be constructed between Pradhankhanta to Bhojudih. The survey team will also submit detailed estimates on diversion to land acquisition to the railway administration.
Once the double lines are done, passengers will save one hour in going from Dhanbad to Tata Nagar. Now, it takes six hours to go to Tata Nagar via Dhanbad-Pradhankhanta. The new system will take only five hours. The Jhargram passenger takes five and a half hours to go to Tata Nagar via Dhanbad- Chas Purulia. An hour will be saved on that route as well and passengers will be able to reach Tata Nagar in four and a half hours.
