Dhanbad: Children in government schools are not showing interest in online studies. It can be estimated from the Jharkhand Digi School App, that only 1638 students have registered, out of 2.5 lakhs children who have not downloaded the app. According to Digi School’s statistics, not even one student has registered in 346 schools out of 1727 schools in the district. Teachers are also being questioned about the strength of the class.
They said that more than 50 percent of the children do not have a smartphone, due to which they are unable to connect to the online classroom. Teachers are not taking interest in registration and upgradation of the Digi school app. The District Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan is also not being monitored properly.
However, the reason behind this is that the teachers had not received instruction in this regard before. Now, after getting instructions, they said, “We are engaged. The children of government schools are being educated through other mediums including Jharkhand Digi School App and Whatsapp Groups.”
After the data came out, District Superintendent of Education, Indra Bhushan Singh was unhappy over this data and asked everyone to take it seriously. After reviewing the entire case, District Education Officer Prabla Khes has instructed all school officials including school headmasters, school heads and teachers to take it seriously and register in the Digi School App for children.
