Rajya Sabha MP and JMM supremo Shibu Soren emerged victorious in his fight with Covid-19. His samples in the second test on Sunday came negative and subsequently he was released from Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. Guruji, as he is referred to, has been admitted in Medanta Hospital on August 25, after he had tested positive for the virus.
Shibu Soren, who is suffering from multiple ailments, and was taken to Gurugram via train from Bokaro in August after doctors had advised him to avoid air travel owing to chances of breathing problems. Jharkhand Chief Minister and his son Hemant Soren himself had taken him from Ranchi to Bokaro and he then boarded the Rajdhani Express for Delhi from Bokaro. A team of medical professionals and security personnel had accompanied him. Soren has also been administered about 500 ml plasma of B+ blood before his departure from Bokaro, the plasma was donated by a police jawan. JMM party sources informed that Soren will stay at Rajmahal MP Vijay Hansda’s official residence in Delhi and will be monitored by medical professionals for some time before he returns to Ranchi. Also, he had been elected to the Rajya Sabha on June 19, so he could formally take oath as MP during his stay in Delhi.
Some people working at Shibu Soren’s house were found to be corona positive, after which Shibu Soren and his wife got tested for corona, in which both were found positive for the infection. At the same time, after health minister Banna Gupta was found positive, the Chief Minister and his entire cabinet went into the home quarantine. So far, many ministers and six MLAs have been found positive in the state. Mithilesh Thakur, Banna Gupta and Badal Patralekh had tested positive for Covid-19. Several other MLAs in Jharkhand had tested positive for Covid-19, some of whom are still in isolation.
