More than 50 thousand samples were collected in three days across the state in the special drive by Jharkhand State Government. Though the state government had set a target of investigating one lakh people in the campaign, officials now say the target is not three days, but for the next several days. This special drive launched by the State Government has yielded better results. This has greatly increased the rate of testing per 10 lakh population of the state. Till 30th July, 7,601 people were being screened on a population of 10 lakh in the state. In this special drive, 46,634 people were screened in three days and the testing rate per 10 lakh population increased to 8,837.
According to the Rashtriya Swasthya Abhiyan, Jharkhand, a total of 47,531 samples were sent for testing till 3 pm on August 3. More samples are being reported from the districts. Given the success of the campaign, it has been decided to continue it further. The number of samples collected is still to come from various districts. This number may be above 50 thousand. After testing has intensified, almost all the districts of Jharkhand are continuously getting new corona cases, but the impact is visible especially in four districts. In Ranchi and East Singhbhum, the infection is spreading even more now and the cases are increasing rapidly in Khunti and Hazaribagh.
The new infections include the Baritu police station Incharge at Ranchi, several doctors, secretariat personnel, policemen etc. The figure for deaths is also increasing rapidly. The number of active cases has now crossed 9000 which the overall number crossing 13000 already.
