Jharkhand on Monday reported four Covid deaths and 166 fresh infections. The number of active cases dropped to 2754, the lowest since July 18, due to a dip in new infections and a high recovery rate.
As per the State Health bulletin, the total number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1,06,230 of which 1,02,548 have recovered, pushing up the recovery rate to 96.53%.
Two deaths were reported from Ranchi while Dhanbad and Dumka reported one death each. The total death toll has now reached 928 with the mortality rate at 0.87%.
Of the new positive cases, Ranchi alone reported 56 cases while East Singhbhum reported 32.
Ranchi now has a total of 974 active cases, the highest in the state while Giridih has the lowest number of active cases at 19.

There is also a considerable gap in the seven-day growth rate of the virus in the state (0.17%) and the national average of 0.42%.
