Jharkhand lockdown : An e-pass was issued to travel from Yaha waha-Jaha taha to Dehradun.

The Jharkhand government has implemented an e-pass to move out from the house for essential work during the partial lockdown, but then the e-pass system has become a joke due to the loopholes in the official government portal. The rule has been in operation since May 16. At first the site crashed for hours due to heavy traffic in the site and when the site started working there were plenty of shortcomings. People who work in the corporate sector, hospitals, media or the local vendors have to move out regularly because of the e-pass system, they faced problems while moving out.

An e-pass was issued to travel from ‘yaha waha to Jaha taha’ Ranchi,Jharkhand to Babaha Dehradun, Uttarakhand. ‘1234567890’ was written in place of phone number. The vehicle number was written as Aby27290 which was invalid. In the place section they wrote ‘kabhi Khushi kabhi gham’ or ‘Baba ka dhaba’ from Giridih, Jharkhand. **3784 was written in the marriage identity card number for the purpose of travel. The most surprising thing is that an e-pass was generated even with this false information.

Some organisations raised the demand to abolish the e-pass system. Former minister of Jharkhand Neelkanth Singh Munda has also raised questions on the official website (e-passjharkhand.nic.in). MLA and former minister from Khunti house needed that e-pass can also be made without the phone number as it does not have an OTP system. So anyone can use anyone’s number. How are such applications getting recognised? In addition to it, the Mayor of Ranchi Municipal Corporation said that the e-pass has made fun of the government.
