Jharkhand Education Minister Approves Transfer Rule Amendment: Teachers In Jharkhand Now To Be Posted In Home Districts.

On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, Jharkhand Education Minister Jagarnath Mahato gave a gift to thousands of teachers of the state. Now, teachers of primary, high and secondary schools who are posted in districts other than their home districts will be able to get a transfer to their home district. Teachers who are from other states will have the option of three border districts of the state or districts of their choice, and they will be transferred there assuming it as their home district. Jagarnath Mahato approved the transfer amendment manual and directed the departmental secretary to transfer teachers according to the amendments.

The Education Minister said that there had been a long-pending demand for amendment of the earlier transfer rules. The amendment has been approved with some new points added to the earlier rules. This transfer of teachers will be done by the department itself based on vacancies. All teachers would have equal opportunity and equal priority. Handicapped teachers will continue to get facilities as earlier. The Director of Primary Education and the Director of Secondary Education will have the right to make inter-district transfers. The Education Minister said that many teachers in the state are working at other districts which are not their home district. In view of issues faced by them, the government has now decided that all the teachers will get posted in their home district. Along with this, handicapped teachers will also get posted in their home district itself.

Newly appointed primary teachers or other teachers posted in another district have now been given the facility of transfer to their home district. Only the district mentioned in the service book will be considered as their home district. The female teachers will have the facility to state their husband’s home district and it would also be considered as their home district. In the case of both husband and wife having a government job, the option chosen by them for the posting will be considered as their home district. The teachers from other states, appointed in the unreserved category, have no home district. Amending the rules, the district near their house or any of three options given to them would be considered their home district. Based on this, they will be transferred to their selected home district. Teachers from other states will be voluntarily transferred to any one of the three districts as their home district based on vacancies.

The education minister also said that state toppers of JAC board matriculation and intermediate exams will be awarded an Alto car on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Binod Bihari Mahato on 23 September. On the same day, 300 students from Bhandaridih who passed their matriculation and intermediate exams with more than 75 per cent marks will be awarded a bicycle.
