JAC Board: Failed students will be allowed to take the compartmental exam.

Ranchi: Despite passing the matriculation and inter examination of Jharkhand Academic Council, if students are not pleased with their marks, then examination will be conducted for them. Simultaneously, there will be separate compartmental examination for students who have failed in the examination. After confirmation from Chief Minister Hemant Soren, provisions are being made in the guidelines to be issued by JAC.

In addition, a student’s evaluation of academic performance will be done on the basis of class 9 marks for matriculation and class 11 marks for intermediate. After the result, if the students are not happy with their marks, then they can take the written test. Separate exam will be conducted for them to improve their result. Final assessment that will be reflected on the marksheet will be on basis of the marks higher of the two, that is, previous score and score after improvement exam. CBSE has also said that they have to conduct the examination for the students who are not happy with their upcoming 10th result. JAC Board will be conducting compartmental examination for students who have not passed their matriculation and Intermediate exams. Those students will be able to take examination of only those subjects in which they don’t pass.

After the announcement from Education Department, many students and their parents have raised questions that most of the students get good marks in 10th and 12th as compared to 9th and 11th. Students of 9th and 11th do not take their exams seriously and this can affect their result. But this time, science students will get 70% marks and arts students 80% marks.

Moreover, JAC Board will have to decide for the old students of matriculation and intermediate. The students who have failed in matriculation or intermediate examination as well as in compartmental examination of 2020 and have applied for the examination of 2021, on what basis will their result be decided. JAC will have to work out its formula.
