In a big relief for passengers, railways have announced they will run 80 new special trains from 12th September. The list of trains includes three pairs of trains running through Dhanbad. Permission has been granted to run Dhanbad-Firozpur-Ludhiana Express, Howrah-Indore Shipra Express and Darbhanga Secunderabad Express. While the Ludhiana Express will originate from Dhanbad, the other two trains will pass through Dhanbad. The time table and stoppage durations of these trains will be the same as before.
The activity on stations like Gomo and stations on the Dhanbad-Chandrapura railway line will also increase. Since the closure of trains from March 22 due to the lockdown, no passenger train has been run on the Dhanbad-Chandrapura rail line, now for almost six months. Darbhanga-Secunderabad will be the only train running on this route. Reservation for these trains will start from 10th September. These special trains will run in addition to the 230 trains that are currently running.

Trains will also run between Madhupur to Delhi and Deoghar to Agartala. With these two trains, the people of Santal will get rail service to reach Delhi and North-Eastern states.
