Deoghar Police Achieve Major Breakthrough; Nab Six Drug Dealers With 650 Packets Of Brown Sugar.

The Deoghar police achieved major success against drug addicts with the arrest of six drug dealers on Wednesday. 650 packets have been recovered from the arrested persons. A Scorpio and five mobile phones have also been seized. The SP informed that as per tip received by police of drug dealers coming to Deghar with a consignment of brown sugar from Bihar, a raid team led by SDPO Vikas Chandra Srivastava was stationed near Andherigadar on Bihar-Jharkhand border. A Scorpio was stopped and searched and 600 packets of brown sugar were recovered from the vehicle. The police then detained three persons, including the driver. The trio was later interrogated and based on the information received, three other accused were arrested. 50 packets of brown sugar were recovered from them.

The drug traders used to bring brown sugar from Ara in Bihar to Deghar and they supplied it to addicts. The racket was working with businessmen at Deoghar. The packets were sold at five hundred rupees per packet at the hands of local businessmen. The whereabouts of these businessmen are still unknown. Buyers used to contact them and they were supplied brown sugar by meeting at designated spots. Police had come to know about the racket in Deghar and efforts are on to nab all of them. It is reported that most of the addicts are in the age group of 20 to 25. The police have arrested Katiyari village resident Jitendra Kumar alias Ranjit, Sunil Kumar Rai, a resident of Simria village in Chakai police station area, Munna Kumar Gupta, resident of Dumka District, Anikesh Kumar Rai, resident of Singhjori Village of Jasidih police station area, Priyanshu Kumar Suman, resident of Satsang Mohalla of Nagar Thana area, and Sudhanshu Ranjan, resident of Satsang Mohalla. The handlers are all between 20 and 30 years of age. People had been telling police that teenagers were falling into the grip of drugs and police have not acted and arrested the dealers.

The police team was led by SDPO Vikas Chandra Srivastava and included HQ DSP Mangal Singh Jamuda, Inspector-co-Jasidih Thana Incharge Manoj Kumar, Inspector-in-charge cum City Thana Incharge Vikram Pratap Singh, Rikhia Thana Incharge Rajiv Kumar, Kunda Thana Incharge Yashwant Kumar, PSI Dhananjaya Singh, Saharvir Oraon, ASI Ramchandra Chaudhary and jawans.
