The cost for coronavirus tests in Jharkhand has been reduced now. Even in private labs in Jharkhand, a corona test will cost a maximum of Rs.1500. The Health Department has issued an order in this regard. The maximum fee for a coronavirus infection test had earlier been reduced to Rs.2400. With the prices of RT-PCR Test Kits and VTM kits etc. going down, the maximum fee for a corona test has been now revised to Rs.1500.
In case any private labs are found to be charging more than Rs.1500 for a coronavirus infection test, action will be taken against them under provisions in Jharkhand State Epidemic Disease (Covid-19) Regulation 2020. Earlier, the Jharkhand Government had authorised private labs to conduct testing for coronavirus infection. The private labs conducting tests include Dr S. Sharan Testing Centre- Harmu Road, Dr Lal Lab, Medica and others.
