Running of Inter-State buses and buses from other states has not yet been allowed by the Jharkhand government. However, buses are operating stealthily in possible connivance with the administration. Earlier, buses going to Bihar used to go via Ormanjhi. After raids by the RTA secretary, bus operators have now changed the route. Now, buses going to Bihar are taking the route via Pithauria Patratu. After receiving this information, the Transport Secretary has taken a strong stand and has directed all DTOs to continue raids.
DTOs of all the districts including Ranchi have been directed to conduct intensive investigation operations in their districts so that buses from other states are not found operating. It has been said that despite all measures, if buses from other states are seen plying in Jharkhand, the DTOs of the concerned district will be held responsible for the same.
Most of the buses which have been caught were going to Bihar and also bringing passengers from Bihar to Ranchi. Corona cases have also been steadily increasing. Taking note of the same, the Secretary had earlier ordered for the raids and 5 buses were seized. In spite of the raids, bus owners continue to run buses illegally.
