The coronavirus infection in Lohardaga is leaving no one untouched. A sample tested for coronavirus on Monday has confirmed a 25-day old newborn baby to be corona positive. The baby was born to parents from a village under Lohardaga Sadar block. Reports of the baby’s mother’s samples have come negative for the infection. The test reports of the newborn’s father are still awaited.
With the 25-day old newborn baby testing positive for coronavirus, all the members of his family have been sent into quarantine. The health department has been engaged in the preparation of the medical care facility under special supervision at the Covid Care Centre.
A total of nine new patients in Lohardaga were confirmed to be infected with corona virus today. These include two policemen of Sadar police station and one in Sadar block complex area, two from railway station road and the 25 day old newborn baby from a village in Sadar block area. Additionally parents of a political leader have also tested positive for coronavirus. With 9 new patients reporting positive on Monday, the total number of affected patients in Lohardaga has reached 112. This includes police officers of Sadar Police station, where total number of affected patients including affected members in the family is 17 so far.
The persistent cases of corona virus infection have also increased the concern of the health department. Several parts of the city have been declared as a containment zone. Traffic in these areas has been completely banned. People living in the containment zone have been asked to stay in their homes. The police personnel have also been deployed in those areas and barriers installed.
