The Jharkhand Government initiated a program to unite children who lost parents in covid-19 with widows/widowers of the state.

The Chief Minister virtually addressed a program, organized by Jharkhand Legal Services Authority (Jhalsa) under the Shishu Project; a program for the rehabilitation of the children who lost their parents during the Corona period, and said that the state government and Jhalsa would take care of such children together.

He is all set to end the orphanage system in the state and hand over the responsibility of raising these children to the widow or widower living in the same village or city itself. The State Government will bear the cost of education of the children and also provide financial assistance to such widow/widowers who wish to take care of such children. The government will also provide an incentive amount to them. If needed, the government will provide the necessary help.

The Chief Minister asked senior police officers to appoint women SPOs in the state to control human trafficking.
