95% of middle-school principal posts and 56% of senior teacher posts lie vacant in Jharkhand. Jharkhand primary school teachers are exasperated because of the government’s lethargic nature. Today where the students are facing barriers to education, the government is still stuck with discrepancies and anomalies which were detected in the cadre elevation of SC/ST employees. After the discrepancies were found, the government came up with an order and froze the promotions. The order came into effect in April 2022, after which no one has been promoted in any cadre. Despite being eligible, the teachers are not being promoted to senior cadres leading to their frustration towards the government. Teachers are expecting speedy resolution of the problem.
The Jharkhand Government failed to employ eligible candidates in schools and has left many seats vacant.
