Tata Steel Amends Rules For Covid-19 Quarantine; 10 Days Instead Of 14 For Asymptotic Patients.

Tata Steel has made amendments in its current arrangements after the Jharkhand government modified rules for Covid-19. With the new system, employees found to be asymptotic in rapid antigen test, True Nat or RT-PCR test will have to be in-home quarantine for 10 days from the day of sample collection instead of the current 14 days. Tata Steel company management has issued a circular in this regard.

The employees of Tata Steel who are found positive for the virus will now have to report from 9 am to 6 pm at the Covid Screening Centre of TMH on the 11th day instead of 15th. If found negative, these employees will have to stay in home quarantine for six days instead of 13. Such employees will then be able to join duty again on the 18th day instead of the 29th day. If employees are still found positive in Rapid Antigen test after completion of the period, under the new rules, they will have to come to the TMH screening centre for re-examination on the 11th day instead of 15. If found negative, such employees will have to submit online affidavits on the seventh day instead of the current 14th day before they can join duty.

If an employee of Tata Steel or his dependents have returned to Jharkhand from other states and are found negative in rapid antigen test, he will still have to stay in home quarantine for 14 days. If found positive in the rapid antigen test, they will have to stay in home quarantine for the next 10 days. They will be re-examined on the 11th day.
