Schools in Jharkhand will not open from September 21. The State Government is yet to take a decision on the proposal of the Jharkhand Education Project Council. Students of Standard 9th to 12th from any school will not have to come to school on Monday. Department of School Education and Literacy Secretary, Rahul Sharma confirmed the same and informed that the decision to keep schools closed till 30th September is still intact. Jharkhand government wants to review the corona situation in the state before taking a decision on the opening of schools.
The State Government had earlier decided that all schools in the state would remain closed till September 30. Subsequently, based on the suggestions of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Jharkhand Education Project Council had proposed to open schools from 21st September in view of matriculation and intermediate exams. As per the proposal, schools were to be opened for students from Standard 9th to 12th. It would be mainly to resolve the queries of the students but students would come to school only on the basis of written consent of their parents. The students were to come to school only to clear doubts and not for regular classes. The JEPC had decided that admission in standard 9th and 11th could also be taken in this time, but it will not proceed now.
