Ranchi : Trying to adopt a safety-first approach with the corona infection still strong, it has now been decided to enable online enrolment for students in government schools in Jharkhand as well which would be in line with what private schools have already adopted. Amar Shaheed Thakur Vishwanath Shahdev School at Shaheed Chowk in Ranchi will be the first government school in the state where the process of online enrolment has been initiated. The process of online enrolment for Class 11 has been initiated for the session-2020-22 in the school.
Principal AK Singh said that the system has been introduced to avoid overcrowding of students for enrolment in the school, a step which has become necessary due to global epidemic Covid-19. This also allows students from remote rural areas to enrol online which sitting as home.

The students enrolling online are also being asked for all academic information as well as WhatsApp numbers which would be used to provide and enable online study for the students till the schools open and the classes start in the campus.
Principal AK Singh said that at present, students in classes 6 to 10 and 12 are being given online study materials by adding them to the WhatsApp group. This also helps the teachers to stay in touch with the students to solve their problems and online examinations are also being conducted regularly.
After the online application is completed, a message will be sent on the student’s phone number for the submission of the required certificates in the school in due course, after which the enrolment process will be completed. The enrolled students are being given online teaching material by linking them to DiGi SATH Whatsapp group.
