Ranchi Municipal Corporation is all geared up for the upkeep and cleanliness of ghats across the city for Chhath Puja. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mukesh Kumar has given clear instructions to all the supervisors to oversee the arrangements for cleaning of the Chhath Ghats in their areas. He also reiterated that if the ghats are not found clean or if there are other complaints regarding the same, strict action will be taken against the respective supervisor.
The sanitation workers of the corporation have informed the Municipal Commissioner that the cleaning work at all the ponds in the city is complete. All the supervisors now have been instructed to take stock of all the Chhath ghats and ensure that any remaining cleanliness work is completed before the puja.
They have also been instructed to place danger sign in the ponds wherever the water is deep.
Apart from this, it has also been decided to post divers near the banks of these ponds where chhath puja will be celebrated. Chhath Puja in the capital is done around lakes in Karam Toli, Doranda, Bada Talab, Kanke Dam, Hatia Dam etc.
