An awareness campaign has been launched by Ranchi District Administration to promote the use of masks to prevent corona infection. Ranchi DC Chavi Ranjan launched the awareness campaign from the Collectorate complex on Friday. The campaign, which runs till October 2, will be run by Ranchi district administration, UNICEF and NGOs. Under this campaign, volunteers from NGOs will motivate people to wear masks in crowded public places in a proper manner. People will also be informed about how to dispose of the used masks.
During the inauguration of the campaign, Ranchi DC said the campaign will increase awareness among people about wearing masks in a proper manner. Residents from Ranchi will provide full support in making the district corona free. UNICEF Jharkhand chief Prashant Das said that it is important for all to adhere to safety measures and hygiene practices in the present situation, and by wearing masks, we can take care of ourselves and our family. He added that UNICEF is always ready to contribute by joining the campaign.
Low-cost cotton masks prepared by self-help groups will also be distributed through JSLPS at various locations. Audio messages will also be telecast through audio vans for the broadcast of awareness messages by NGOs. Additional District Magistrate Law and Order Lokesh Mishra and District PR officer Prabhat Shankar are designated nodal officers for coordinating the programme on behalf of the district administration.
