22 builders had been given notice by the Ranchi Municipal Corporation on the instructions of the Green Tribunal to submit environmental clearance certificate. However, only 5 have responded to the municipal corporation. The builders have stated that they do not have environmental clearance and have applied for it. Preparations are being made to again send notices to the builders who have not responded yet.
The Green Tribunal had directed that the construction of buildings exceeding an area of more than 20 thousand square meters will not be allowed without environmental approval. Despite this, such buildings are being built in the municipal area without environmental approval. With the Green Tribunal in no mood to let go, the Municipal Development Department directed the corporation to stop work in such buildings. Post this, the municipal corporation had issued a notice a month ago to 22 builders who did not have environmental clearance.
The builders were asked to submit the documents to the Municipal Corporation after taking environmental approval. But so far, no builder has submitted the documents to the Municipal Corporation with environmental approval. Only 5 out of 22 builders responded to the notice. The corporation is going to send another notice to the builders, who have not yet considered it appropriate to respond to the first notice.
