Monday, October 5 has been declared a government holiday in Jharkhand. The Governor of Jharkhand issued the order, post which the Labour Department issued a notification for declaration. All offices under the Government of Jharkhand will remain closed. The state government has announced two days of state mourning on the death of Minister Haji Hussain Ansari. During the two days, the national flag will remain at half-mast at government offices.
Jharkhand Minister of Minority Welfare Haji Hussain Ansari had passed away on Saturday. He was undergoing treatment at Medica Hospital in Ranchi. Along with corona infection, 73-year-old Haji Hussain Ansari was suffering from diabetes and heart disease. He had also undergone a heart operation earlier and had a pacemaker installed. Corona infection had reached his lungs. Ansari had come to Ranchi from Madhupur on 16 September. He also participated in the monsoon session which started from 17 September.
Himanshu Shekhar Chaudhary, who has previously been advisor to the Chief Minister, said that he was shocked to hear the news of death of Minister Haji Hussain Ansari. He said that Haji Hussain Ansari recently had a long discussion with him on the issue related to salary and pension of madrasa teachers. He added that Haji Sahab always talked to the Chief Minister on this issue and after a lot of struggle to resolve this issue, the Madrasas which were not getting government grants, were provided the same.
