Naman believes that his wedding sets a strong example to the public : how to organize a wedding in simple manner.

During the second wave of COVID-19, MLA of Simdega district Naman Bixal Kongadi chose it as an opportune moment to tie the wedding knot with Vinita Jojo, daughter of Martin Jojo. He took wedding vows at Ranchi’s Residence at Dibdih on Thursday. Keeping all the precaution, social distancing and the current scenarios of COVID-19 in mind.

The matrimonial event was performed in a simple and elegant manner with the presence of 11 people in total. After taking permission from the nearest police station and by a pastor from the Church at home, only five people were there from the groom’s side- his daughter, two sisters, a witness and a friend, Bride had six guests from her side. It is his second marriage After he lost first wife, unique was that his daughter Archie was a witness to the precious bond ceremony. Many were of the view that marriages should not be allowed during these times But later it was decided to allow the wedding. He says that when a person who has resources and can afford it in a lavish manner later, can solemnise weddings with such simplicity, why can’t other people. He thinks it is a strong message for people in rural areas to set the precedent of simplicity. He chose to drive more than 100 km to Ranchi to the bride’s place at Dibdih to solemnise his wedding. The MLA expressed his gratitude to General public for congratulating him. Appealing to common people he said “people should organize the ceremony in a simple manner and follow the instructions given by the government and district administration.”
