Mukhyamantri Shramik Yojana catapulted by Chief Minister Hemant Soren for unskilled labourers of the city is proving to be a godsend for them. Labourers of 51 municipal bodies are being benefited from this program.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many people including daily wage labourers and migrant workers lost their job and became unemployed. For curbing this issue, Chief Minister Hemant Soren launched this scheme in order to create opportunities for the labourers.
Mukhyamantri Shramik Yojana was launched on August 14, 2020. This scheme intents to benefit about 31 percent of the population living under poverty line.
Meticulous work is being done for the welfare for the poor families under this scheme. Mukhyamantri Shramik Yojana not only affirms employment to the labourers but also ensures that the employment is given within 15 days of the registration. Beneficiary not having employment is entitled to get unemployment allowance.
In a period of few months after the launch of the scheme, results started to come. 25,515 applications have been received and more than 18,983 job cards have been issued. Out of 2979 workers, 2407 got jobs. Maximum number of applications have been received from Dhanbad and Ranchi. Labourers seeking employment are entailed in development works such as infrastructure development, road construction, drainage construction, plantation, park beautification under Amrit Yojana, sanitation and river-pond beautification work under Swachh Bharat Mission, building construction work under Pradhan Mantri Awas Urban Yojana, rain water harvesting and construction work.
Apart from this, any unskilled labourer whose age is above 18 are entitled to get free job card with 100 days employment guarantee under this scheme.
The free job cards can be procured either from Pragya Kendra or by writing a written application to CRP Didi.
