Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced the same and also added that the orders had been given accordingly. He also informed that a big campaign would be run from Friday to Sunday to carry out massive testing for coronavirus. Reports from this campaign would form the basis for further steps to be taken by the state government. The target is to test at least one lakh people in Jharkhand with the aim being the assessment of the rate of corona infection. This could make it quite clear how dangerous is the speed of corona infection in the state. Based on this report, the Government will consider further tightening or relaxation of the rules.

According to sources in the government, Chief Minister Hemant Soren is taking regular reports of the situation himself from Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh and Principal Secretary, Department of Health Dr Nitin Madan Kulkarni. The reports of corona infection are also being taken from the district Deputy Commissioners. The CM is concerned with the growing numbers of patients with infection. It is noteworthy that after the cabinet meeting, several cabinet ministers had recommended strict lockdown and authorized the Chief Minister to take a final decision. The chief minister himself has said that the infection in the state is increasing and the government is keeping an eye on every situation.

The chief minister said that the corona infection in the state has also increased due to the exemption given to transport vehicles during the lockdown. The spread of corona has also increased due to people coming from other states. The state government is contemplating imposing complete lockdown in the state again. In case the numbers don’t seem to go down and the reports from the tests also come back showing that the disease is spreading its wings even more, Jharkhand could move towards another complete lockdown.
