Indian Football’s nursery ‘Tata Football Academy’ (TFA) has once again lived up to its standards to become India’s number one academy which was started by the Tata Gharana in 1987. Recently a reputed sports website surveyed AIFF (All India Football Federation) affiliated football academies in India in which Tata Football Academy (TFA) was ranked number one. There are about 400 football academies in India in which TFA stood out and ranked number one because of its excellence in the game and infrastructure.
Tata Football Academy along with its own building also has its own ground for players to live, study, practice and play matches. In addition, the TFA currently has 17 licensed coaches from the Asian Football Confederation.
Since 1987, a total of 250 players have graduated from here after learning football. Out of these, 150 players have represented the Indian football team which is a record. Apart from this TFA has won more than 40 titles including Durand Cup and India’s other prestigious tournaments. TFA has tied up with one of the top teams of La Liga, Atlético de Madrid. Under this agreement, TFA cadets get to visit the Atlético football academies, train there and play matches with other footballers.
Apart from this, trained and world class coaches come to TFA and train the players. Currently their special coach is Carlos Santamarina who is the head coach of TFA Youth.
