Jharkhand State Finance Minister Critical Of RBI Deducting DVC’s Dues Of 1417 Crores From State Government’s Account.

On the instructions of the Central Government, RBI deducted installment of DVC dues of Rs 1417 crore from Jharkhand state government’s account. State Finance Minister Dr. Rameshwar Oraon termed the action of RBI completely wrong and illegitimate. He questioned action of the central government with non-BJP ruled states and said that it is unfortunate that amounts have been deducted from state government’s account instead of giving aid during the corona transition period when tribal dominated and backward state like Jharkhand is facing revenue crisis.

Jharkhand State Finance Minister said that the Central Government has also not paid outstanding GST to Jharkhand. He went on to add that this tripartite agreement was done during the previous Raghuvar Das government, and at that time the amount was never deducted by the Central Government, while in the last five years, there has been an outstanding of 5514.99 crores. He said that the amount should have been deducted during the last government’s tenure when there was a BJP government both in the center and the state.

Rameshwar Oraon said that the amount being claimed by the Ministry of Power is not correct. A letter has been written to the Union Ministry of Power on behalf of the State Energy Department, and it has been clarified that the amount should be 3558 crores.
