Jharkhand High Court Asks Hemant Soren Government Reason For Bad Condition Of RIMS And Rising Cases Of Corona In The State.

The Jharkhand High Court has asked several questions from the Hemant Soren government while hearing a PIL for rising cases of coronavirus infection in Jharkhand. The court asked the reason for the bad condition of the state’s largest government hospital RIMS, especially when there are so many good doctors and medical staff and people are working at their full capacity. The Jharkhand High Court, through video conferencing, on Friday directed the state government to submit an updated detailed report while hearing PILs on the growing cases of infection of Covid-19. A division bench comprising Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi, while hearing the case, remarked on RIMS being in a bad condition despite good doctors, nursing staff and medical staff.

The court asked the government for possible causes. Doctors and medical staff are working day and night and working to their complete potential. The court asked for the number of vacancies for doctors, nurses and other staff in RIMS. It asked for the reason for not having a regular director. The court also asked for details for several sanctioned posts not being filled. The bench said that when the case started, the number of cases was low at that time. The situation has changed in the present day and the number of cases is constantly on the rise. The bench also said that there should be a couple of hospitals in the state equipped with all kinds of modern medical facilities.

The bench further said that they will first check the state of RIMS and then proceed to check the status of the other hospitals in the state. Advocate Inderjit Sinha had written to the Chief Justice on the lack of preparedness to deal with the infection of coronavirus. The High Court had converted the letter into a PIL.
