The Jharkhand government will tie up with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) as a national industry partner. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Jharkhand Department of Industries and FICCI will be signed soon. The MoU format has been approved by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. After the MoU, FICCI will act as the National Industry Partner of the Government of Jharkhand for a period of two years.
The main aim of the MoU is to reinstate previous position of the economy post Covid-19 along with sustainable economic development in the state. The MoU would work towards better utilization of state’s natural resources, providing employment to skilled and semi-skilled workers according to their capacity and efficiency, besides increasing investment and trade it will promote ease of doing business so that the rules and regulations related to trade can be simplified. This will provide conducive business environment for businessmen.
The government and FICCI will work together to promote priority sectors in the state. These sectors include textile and garments, food processing, pharmaceutical, health care, manufacturing, MSME and cottage industries, tourism and eco-tourism.
