Jharkhand Governor Instructs Universities And JPSC To Complete Appointment Of Teachers.

Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu gave instructions to universities and Jharkhand Public Service Commission to complete the pending appointment process of teachers in universities. Instructions have also been given to complete the process of promotion of teachers soon. The Governor gave the instructions during a review meeting with the vice chancellors via video conferencing on Thursday. Expressing seriousness on the vacant posts of technical institutions run by the state government, the Governor stated the need for early appointments and sent instructions to Jharkhand Public Service Commission for the appointments to regular posts in Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University. The creation of vice-chancellor, registrar and other posts in Jamshedpur Women’s University was also discussed in the meeting.

The Governor, while reviewing academic calendar of all universities, received suggestions from all the Vice Chancellors on applying the same curriculum, examination at same time, one exam method, in all universities of the state. She also received information about subjects handled by the tribal and regional language departments of different universities. The governor discussed the use of information and library networks from all universities.

The governor also directed colleges to make provisions for giving a stipulated respectable honorarium to teachers, citing the grave conditions in corona period. While reviewing the retirement benefits and pensions of retired teachers / personnel, the Governor said that all universities should work diligently for getting timely retirement benefits and pensions. The Governor instructed all the universities to update the financial audit by the Accountant General’s office soon. She expressed displeasure at the slow pace of construction of the Nilambar-Pitambar University building.

The Governor welcomed the newly appointed Chairman of Jharkhand Public Service Commission Amitabh Chaudhary and said that as he established his distinguished identity in the IAS and deserved to be praised for his work in the BCCI and JCA, similarly expectations were from him during his tenure in JPSC.
