Excessive electricity bills annoying villagers..

Villagers living in the area of Gawan block of Giridih district are upset over excessive electricity bills. Villagers in many areas inclusive of Kishanpur, Kahuwai, Kheshanro, and Dhanasoti, protested against the electricity department by raising slogans on Saturday.

According to the villagers, since 2016 electric transformers are not working in these areas. After the transformers went dysfunctional, the villagers postulated from the electricity department to get new transformers installed, but no one listened. Eventually, they got their connections cut after giving written applications so that they don’t have to pay electricity bills without even using electricity.

But, because of the electricity department’s insouciance, after five years, the villagers have been handed over an electricity bill of Rs 35,000-40,000 without even using the electricity. Villagers living in these areas saying that the electricity bills sent to them should be relinquished as soon as possible, otherwise they will escalate the outcry for justice.
