The Naxalites’ plans to cause disturbance and panic in by-election to be held on November 3 was foiled by Dumka Police. On Tuesday morning, police recovered a rifle, ten cartridges, 50 detonators and 79 pieces of geletin from Supaidih forest area in Masliya. SP Ambar Lakra informed that on Tuesday morning, they received information about Naxalites hiding weapons which will be used during the election. The SSB officials conducted search operations in the jungle, and large number of weapons etc. were recovered.
The SP said that all the weapons and arsenal was being collected with aim to be used in elections. The police have thwarted the intention of the Naxalites. With the election near, police and SSB teams have been constantly running search operations.The SP said that Naxalites will not be allowed to succeed under any circumstances. ASP RC Mishra, Deputy Commandant Lalit Sah, Narpat Singh and Station In-charge Dayanand Shah were present at the briefing.
SSB Second Command Officer Satish Kumar said that the Naxalites’ activities have been curbed through constant campaigning by police in the area. Even after so much monitoring, four to five members of the squad are constantly visiting and their every activity is being monitored. He added that under no circumstances will Naxalites be allowed to flourish again.
