Dhumkkudiya movie is going to be screened at world’s popular Cannes Film Festival on 12th July 2021. Nandlal Nayakdirected movie Dhumkkudiya is inspired by true incidents and throws light on concerning issues like human trafficking, migration and exploitation of tribals by the urban society. After much research, the dangerous network of human trafficking has been skillfully shown in the film. It is a matter of pride for the artists and art lovers of Jharkhand. This film shows in an unbelievable way how this big and dangerous business isbuilt and how itextends from small and remote villages to Ranchi and then to big metros like Delhi.The movie is a good news for the people and especially movie lovers of Jharkhand.

In this movie, Rinkal Kacchap has played the role of the character Rishu. Rishu is a hockey player, living in a village. She reaches Delhi trapped in the clutches of human traffickers and is a victim of sexual abuse. She expressed this tragedy and oppression in a wonderful way. Rinkal’s acting is so tremendous that sensitive audiencescannot hold themselves back from crying. This story revolves around the tribal society of Jharkhand showing the art, culture, life and the changes taking place in it.

In addition, Pradyuman Nayak played another prominent role as Budhwa. Actor Rajesh Jais, a passout from Delhi’s NSD, also played an important role in the film by playingthe smallest aspects of his character flawlessly.
