Dhoni is a name which needs no introduction. He is one of the greatest cricket player and certainly also one of the best cricket captains too. But not just cricket is his forte. Many people already know about Mahi’s love for the armed forces. Adorned with India’s 3rd highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan, Dhoni was also accorded the honourary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army unit of the Parachute Regiment(106 para TA battalion) by the Indian Army in 2011. To honour this position Dhoni requested the Army to provide him proper training too after which he underwent a 2-week long training in the 106-Territorial Army Battalion in South Kashmir. He is also very abled in parachute jumping.
Recently Dhoni has entered a new domain–Organic farming and Animal Husbandry. Dhoni produces vegetables in his farmhouse which has gained immense fame not only in India but also in Dubai. He also produces the Kadkanath variety of chicken and eggs. The milk from different varieties of cows including the Gir variety, sold under Dhoni’s brand name has gained widespread recognition amongst buyers.
Apart from farming, Dhoni’s other activities also include filmmaking. He is going to perform as an actor in an upcoming web series. The story is based on an Aghori who is stranded on an island with hi-tech facilities. The series aims to debunk several superstitions and mysteries prevalent in society. Dhoni also has his own entertainment company called Dhoni Entertainment Pvt Ltd whose office is in West Andheri, Mumbai. Under the company, a documentary titled ‘Roar of the Lion’ has already been made which is based on the trials and travails of Chennai Super Kings. The film based on Dhoni’s life, starred by Sushant Singh Rajput, ‘Dhoni-The Untold Story’ was also made which was very successful.
Dhoni and his wife Sakshi are very active on social media, Instagram which is where we get to witness Dhoni’s love for animals. Dhoni has several different species of dogs. Sakshi and his daughter Ziva can frequently be seen playing with their dogs. Dhoni recently also bought a horse named Chetak. Dhoni’s friends say that Mahi always liked such a life that was away from the glitz and in the lap of nature. Dhoni’s love for unique vehicles is also not a mystery. On Sakshi and Dhoni’s marriage anniversary Dhoni gifted her a vintage car which she showed to her followers on Instagram.
Dhoni celebrated his birthday on Wednesday in Simalia, near Ranchi in his farmhouse along with his close friends and relatives. His fans in Ranchi and in entire Jharkhand too celebrated his birthday with utmost fervour. He was wished by other cricketers, celebrities, and fans on social media and the internet. The cricket fans cherished Dhoni’s momentous moments of his cricketing life. Dhoni remains a shining example of the fact that success can be achieved when dreams are pursued with hard work and determination.
