12 cyber criminals were arrested by the Deoghar police including one who had done a fraud with a Major of the Indian Army. Deoghar SP Ashwini Kumar Sinha said that he had received secret information that some cyber criminals were active in the area. On the basis of this information, two separate police teams raided Lakrakhanda, Mohlidih, Thadi, Ledwa and Telbhanga Budhiari villages of Sarath, Pathrol, Chitra and Mohanpur police stations. 12 cyber criminals were arrested and police also seized a Bolero, a Scorpio, 3 bikes, 41 mobile phones, 52 SIM cards, 7 pass books and 15 ATMs from them.
Deoghar SP informed that among the cyber accused arrested are Sunil Kumar, Manoj Kumar Yadav, Prem Kumar, Amarjeet Manjhi, Manoj Kumar from Telbhanga Budhiari village in Mohanpur police station area, Samsul Ansari, Zeheruddin Ansari from Thadi village in Chitra police station area, Abdul Samad Ansari from Lakrakhandha in Sarath police station area, Farooq Ansari, Aslam Ansari, Inayat Ansari from Mohladih village, Mukesh Kumar Das from Tola village under Ledwa under Patharol police station area. During interrogation, the accused confessed to cyber fraud and told that they used to commit crimes by calling bank customers. By pretending to update KYC, they used to take information about the account and Aadhaar details and then they took out the money. They used to trap customers by sending links to phone-pay, Paytm and put their numbers in customer care in Google search engine. They installing remote access apps like Team Viewer and Quick Support and cheated by retrieving four digits of mobile numbers and adding six numbers. One of the arrested cyber criminals had cheated an Army Major in which mobile IMEI was used.
One of the teams formed under the leadership of Headquarters DSP Mangal Singh Jamuda, raided seven villages of Sarath, Pathrol and Chitra police station area and arrested 7 cyber criminals. Another team formed under the charge of Cyber Police Station Kalim Ansari, raided Telbhanga Budhiari village of Mohanpur police station and arrested 5 cyber criminals. The other members of the raiding team included cyber police inspector Sangeeta Kumari, Sarath police station in-charge Rajendra Singh, Rikhiya police station in-charge Rajeev Kumar, Mohanpur police station in-charge Laxmi Mandal, Sonaraithari police station in-charge, Kunda police station in-charge Yashwant Kumar Singh, PSI Ajay Kumar Yadav, Avinash Kumar Gautam, Prem Pradeep Kumar, Rupesh Kumar, Swaroop Bhandari, Gaurav Kumar, Manoj Kumar Murmu, Shailesh Pandey, Pradeep Kumar Mandal, Mangal Tuddu, Somlal Murmu, Prem Sagar Pandit, Ranjan Kumar Das, Tirath Kumar Singh, Emanuel Marandi, Ashok Kumar Thakur, Shyampad Singh , Ratan Dubey, Rajesh Kumar and others.
