Covid-19 Update: 137 Fresh Cases & 5 Deaths Reported in Jharkhand

The number of Covid-19 cases in Jharkhand increased to 1,07,469 with 137 new cases being reported in the last 24-hours. According to the State Health Department bulletin as of November 22, 2020, till 9 pm, Ranchi reported the maximum number of cases at 77, while 12 were reported from Garhwa, 7 from Bokaro, 6 from Godda, 5 each from East Singhbhum and Deoghar, 4 each from Palamu, Hazaribagh and Ramgarh, 3 each from Saraikella and Dumka, 2 each from West Singhbhum, Giridih and Jamtara, 1 from Koderma.

The coronavirus death toll rose to 951 with 5 more deaths reported in the state, of which 2 deaths were in Ranchi and one each from Bokaro and Dhanbad. Former minister and three-time Congress MLA of the erstwhile undivided Bihar, O P Lala, was among the five Covid-19 deaths reported in the state on Sunday.

The number of active cases tally in the state now stands at 2289 while 10,492 samples being tested in the last 24 hours. So far 1,04,229 people have been cured and discharged in Jharkhand. Despite the rise in Coronavirus cases across the state, the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has improved and reached 96.98% compared to India’s recovery rate of 93.70%.
